How do you step from the top of a 100-foot pole?

Well how do you step off the top of a 100 foot pole? I see this question as an analogy to taking risks in life rather than literally stepping off the top of a 100 foot pole.

There comes a time in everyone’s’ lives when they have to take a great leap of faith…just like stepping from a 100 foot pole. You may not know if you will make it safely to the ground, or if you will succeed, however if you don’t try you will never know!

Life is too short for people not to make the most of each day! If one procrastinates about stepping off a 100 foot pole they are never going to have the opportunity of taking risks and making those increcible memories to tell their grandchildren one day! How will they ever know if they reached their full potential?

Sometimes you just have to follow you heart, even if it makes no sense at all. We learn from our mistakes so we don’t repeat them. Life is all about chances, if you don’t take them you will never get off the 100 foot pole, and if you do take chances, face all the obstacles in your way one at a time.

So close your eyes, dream big, follow your heart and take that first step off the 100 foot pole.

  1. The greatest lesson we learn in life are related to the situation we took our greatest risks in. We didn't have a plan, we weren't sure if it was the right choice but we gained the most from following our hearts and stepping from the top of a 100-foot pole.

Everyday we make choices and there are times when we need to make big decisions that can change our lives forever. We need to put ourselves out there and stand out in the crowd and at times that involves taking a risk. It could be suggesting your ideas at a board meeting or standing up for what you believe in.

We need to see more risk takers in the world.

  2. This is a really nice way of looking at it. In my blog I took it quite literally! It really is difficult to take risks, there's so many factors holding us back but it's normally worth it in the end. Even if the results aren't good, the experience will make you stronger. And I agree that we all need to stand up for what we believe in.
